I commemorate when I was little all I wanted to do was be grown up, but now that I have a bit all I can think about is if I have done this much in trying to grow up, how much can I do because I have experienced what I have and now I’m going to tell you what those things are. When I was little we were moving all over the place and I never really had a permanent home until about 2008 I was about five years old. I lived in a house with my mom, dad, brother, and sister Emily who has had the most impact on my life. When we were growing up we were having a blast in school and playing with our friends, since I have a twin sister Emily I was never bored. But in 2012 my family changed forever one afternoon my parents told us they were getting a divorce and this was a very hard thing to process considering my sister and I were only in third grade, this came as a shock to us because they always acted happy together. But let’s just move ahead two years, we can talk about the experiences we had at both parents' houses. I really did not like staying with my dads because I loved being with my mom all the time, but at the same time at my mom's we didn’t want to be there and I’m going to elaborate on that. One day we got in a fight with our mom's roommate, and she would pull Emily and me by the hair and threaten to leave us on the curb and punish us which made us hate it there, but we didn’t know any better.
My mom's friends always had a problem with trying to parent us because our mom couldn’t stop them because she probably thought it was appropriate. Anyways that’s all I recall, let’s skip a year when my mom doesn’t have a place to live because we were moving, and we had to leave our old house early We weren’t able to stay with my mom for about four months until she got into the new house, we had to live with our dad. Fast forward another year and my dad loses his company because he ran out of money, he wasn’t able to pay for a house or a place to live, and he had to move in with our cousin. We weren’t able to stay with our dad for a year because he didn’t have a bed for us to sleep in, then he got the house that we are currently living in now and it’s going great.
That part of my life was just the beginning of what was still to come. When my sister and I were in eighth and currently ninth grade my mom would place her hand on us in a hostile manner. Which during this time my mom was getting into a lot of arguments with my brother which caused her to kick him out, and he went to live with my dad. When that happened I knew that our protection was gone, which caused it to only get worse from there. Arguments with her can be extremely small, and she will escalate them into something bigger and cause fear in me and my sister. This year alone she has done a lot to affect me and my sister. The first time it was big was the day before our midterms, and we got into a big fight and my dad had to call the police while there were two other adults in the house letting it happen to me and my sister, the police tried to get our school stuff for the next morning but when they knocked on the door she hid like a coward and didn’t give us back our stuff. Which not only made us lose respect for her but also her friends. Another time this happened was the day before Thanksgiving, and she got arrested that night for a DWI we had our Thanksgiving messed up the next day.
There was one last time so far and this is what happened, I was sick and not feeling good on the elementary school night for the basketball team this year but I also had volleyball that night also and I wasn’t up to playing volleyball and wanted to stay for the varsity basketball game, I told my mom I needed to stay. Then she went on threatening me that she would tell the coaches that I told her that they said I couldn’t leave. I was at the point where I was done with what was happening, I told Coach Nor, and she was going to help me with the whole situation but me telling her she had a file a report with the school which I didn’t care anymore. Then three weeks ago my mom went to tell my volleyball coaches that I couldn’t practice because I was being “disrespectful” and “rude” but all I was trying to do was get ready for practice. The coaches talked to me and said that my mom was irreverent, and they said I could practice which was a relief. As of now my dad is trying to get the custody changed and trying to get all of our sports injuries figured out because I might need surgery on my shoulder, and my mom's house has been a little rocky but nothing major lately. That wraps up all the major things that have happened in my life so far.
