Personal Growth and Development essays

The period of personal growth is an essential part of human life. Everyone has different personal ideas and opinions about the definition of personal growth. For me, personal growth is about trying to learn new things, and skills, overcoming obstacles, and achieving your goals.

One of the important events and accomplishments that sparked a period of my personal growth was my admission to a bachelor’s degree from one of the universities in India. So I aimed for it when I was a high school student. Initially, I wanted to learn English. Since my mother was an English teacher, she has encouraged me to learn it and has inspired me. Later, I went to the Language Learning centers and the American Corner to learn English. I set a goal to study English at university. I have been working hard to achieve my goal since I was in high school. After graduating from high school, I applied several times in my home country universities in Turkmenistan, and even abroad, but failed. However, I promised that I will never give up and that I will achieve my goal. After several failures and attempts, I was accepted to the English and Foreign languages university in India. Because I believed that light can be found even in the darkest times.

Moving from high school to university life was a big step for me. University life also teaches us a lot of life lessons, such as personal development. Studying in India has radically changed my life and improved my personal growth. I developed a greater sense of independence and confidence in my capabilities. Studying abroad has given me the opportunity to adapt to a new place understanding a new culture and meet many people like classmates, teachers, and others. In addition, living far from my homeland and family has helped me grow up and increase my independence. It has given chance to attend Indian academic systems and methods. I took on the responsibility of studying more. Despite my shy nature, I became more confident in participating in class discussions, group projects, and clubs on campus. When I faced difficulties, I have tried to solve them individually and make my own decisions. There were no meals prepared by my mother. Therefore, I myself was able to learn how to cook food while I was living in the university hostel. At the end, I realized that if you work hard for your aim, you will reach positive results and success.
After my graduation of the Undergraduate program, I then would like to move on to a master’s degree. Hindi-Turkmen international relations also provide a great opportunity for us to achieve the goal of higher education.
